Just about every year, our family takes a big summer trip. In order to prepare our daughter for our destinations, we always look for books about the places we will be visiting. I have been frustrated by the fact that just about all of the books available about the states are aimed at children about 10 years old and older. Even my 2nd graders have a hard time if they want to do some quick research about a state. The books were simply too difficult.

That is, until now. Sleeping Bear Press has published absolutely fantastic books about every state. There are facts to go with every letter of the alphabet and are accompanied by stunning illustrations. Older children will be fascinated by the details provided in the sidebars. Mom and Dad, these aren’t the alphabet books you grew up with; you will definitely learn a thing or two!
