Goodnight Moon

If a list of essential items for a baby were to be created it may look like this: diapers, milk or formula, clothing, car seat, crib, lots of love, and Goodnight Moon. This classic book by Margaret Wise Brown should be in every child’s book collection. Early readers are successful because of repeated exposure to print. Predictable patterns make it easy for children to read since the same words are repeated several times over. Strong picture clues also make it easy for toddlers and preschoolers to read this wonderful bedtime story.

By the way, yes, you should read to your infant! It’s never too early to instill a love for reading! I started reading to our daughter when we were still in the hospital and have read to her every day since then!
