Explorer Globe by Leap Frog

The Explorer Globe by Leap Frog, makers of the LeapPad,  is an interactive, electronic globe recommended for ages 8 and up. Our daughter received it as a gift shortly before she turned 6 and she loves it. Everyone (children and adults alike) who has seen this electronic globe has been intrigued by all of the information it offers. People are certainly entertained while learning from this toy. You can’t go wrong with facts like the names of the continents, countries, capital cities, time zones, elevation, music, and distances between two points and the interactive nature of the Explorer Globe makes learning  fun!

There is another version aimed at younger children called Jr. Globe Explorer by Leap Frog. That version focuses on the continents and oceans, not the countries. Many people have been disappointed in the Jr. version, so be aware of the two models out there and what it is you want out of your toy. I believe children would grow out of the Jr. version quickly, so if you’re going to invest in a talking globe, you should probably go for the more advanced version, the Explorer Globe by Leap Frog, your child will use it a lot longer.
