This is a giant soft book which opens to reveal two different activity mats. My son received this when he was about 3 months old. He looked and looked at all of the different animals on the two pages. It kept his attention for quite a while. Quite a feat for a 3 month old infant. This book is like a playground for the senses! The bright colors and darling animals are visually appealing; there are a lot of different textures and pieces that can be manually manipulated; and some of the objects rattle, crinkle, or jingle. As my son grows he is beginning to reach for the objects. Also, this is easy to bring along on trips. When  we took a short get away, rather than packing a bag of toys for him, I brought this along and a few rattles and teething rings in the diaper bag. Some of the objects are removable, so they can be used separately.
